Today we lost a legend. Love him or hate him there is no dispute that he was one of the most colorful and dedicated baseball men of my generation. I for one hated him and loved him. Hated the way he treated Billy Martin but loved his committment to the Yankees and his desire to win every year. I was watching YES a week or so ago and the had a retrospective on his life and his kids were talking about him in past tense so I was confused and even asked my brother this past Saturday if George died and I didnt hear about it. Needless to say I was taken by surprise by today's announcement given the proximity to my question.

Rest in Peace Boss! Hopefully your kids will be half the man you were.
