Guys,
I had a few done by the reel restorer. He did a great job but when the reels got wet in the surf the sand was grinding between the spool and the rotor cup. I sanded the edge of the spool and that solved the problem. It seems the paint left very little space between the spool and the rotor and a little sand would bind in there! Do you guys have the same problem?

All my reels have been cut. Take the spool and take off .050 thousands and you will no longer grind.
