Well, I guess I have to say they are here We ran to a spot that has treated us well since I was a wee lad! We ran out Wed. Afternoon and planned on fishing overnight.
We had our first hookup 45min after we dropped the hook. A fat 47 inch 35# Bass hits the deck. Through out the evening we Boated a 47.5 inch 37# bass and a 48 inch 40# bass. On top of that we had a 30",34" and a 39" bass. We got our 3 person limit with no losses or missed runoffs!
The fish were not being shy at all.
Now for the report section.
Water temp: 55*
Depth: 8-10'
*** The bites all came on the bottom* and top* of BOTH tides ***
Water clarity wasnt great, but it wasnt too bad for the shallows.
The fish were loaded with bunker, they were spitting up peanuts!
We chummed ever so lightly, which, we normally dont do, if, there are garbage fish around. We didnt catch a single skate or dog. Just one nice Blueclaw.
So, over all, it was a great first fall stiper trip! The mates and I finally got out for some fun fishing, and it was just that!
